I am very confused about this article, what point is is making. Because it seems to ambiguously wiggle between praising and attacking CC. In my mind she has done right in not wanting to be a poster woman for a(ny) political movement, she seems to concentrate on her job, she seems generally respectful to opponents and team mates (of any ‘color‘). If anything, somehow it seems that she has gotten a raw deal in people of different persuasions lambasting her for contributing to boosting the popularity of the WNBA. As far as I have seen, she has not claimed any disproportionate share of that development herself, and therefore she should not receive the criticism that she is abusing her popularity, It all is very surreal. Anyway, CC is not a problem, also not a solution (and she has not claimed yo be). So simply enjoy quality and let‘s leave self-serving politics in its stinking sewer.
